I know I need to make sure I can keep thinking about my ideas which I wanted to implement but couldn't back when we didn't have these AI tools and back when I didn't have any free time because I was at work or doing certifications.

But these days its looking more and more like the fake labor AI bubble is going to stay intact enabling companies to lie about productivity and work done longer than we can stay solvent. If the companies don't cave and keep thinking that AI is doing something, the gaps in our resume's just keep growing until we're unemployable compared to the future engineers.

When I think of this its hard to stay creative and do personal projects like SAAS and games because there's no future except flipping burgers or something.

Applying to everything you're qualified for on job boards might take 2 hours a week every week or two, you might get 3-5 phone calls a week, you will be invited to do homework and assessments that will take up your entire day multiple days in a row, or at least give you a reason to study for an hour or two, you have workshops you could be attending, you could be attending meetups and learning something while networking in-person, and if all that isn't enough you can work on a project to put up on your portfolio, you could be working on your personal website

It's not impossible to find a job right now and if you aren't treating the job search itself like a full time job you aren't trying enough
