I wouldn't mind not being able to get cheap storage for a few years if it means we could have 128 TB SSDs for less than $5K by 2030.

What do you think, why do you think most people are still using 16gb ram and 1tb disks for 10+ years now?
You won't get anything.

>used hard drives now at $14-16/tb
>shit smr drives at $12/tb
Shits grim. Expect cloud storage to go up by 20% in the next 6 months too.

This.
It's time to rent that storage space. You thought we were joking about owning nothing and being happy. You won't even own the rights to your image, DNA, nor data. Be ready to be happy. or else.

Video editing is the only use case for more. There haven't been any good games since like 2005.

These are bullshit cover stories designs to justify raising prices just before the holidays. If anything, demand has fallen vs 6-12 months ago.

My chinkshit SSDs of choice are still $50, do I buy a dozen right now or wait for the 11.11 sale?

This scarcity is artificial. It's 2025 and most people are still using similar memory and disk setup as they did back in 2015. Sure capacities are somewhat different and I had 8TB disk back in 2017 already but I'm not a normie.
This only tells more about the fact how rigged this so called economy is and also about the fact that AI is not sustainable (I'm not talking about being a hippie here, sustainability to me means being fair to everyone..).
Whatever it won't change if I complain on 4chan

My computer is from 2012 because there's literally no reason to upgrade.

My daily driver is a Dell Optiplex 7010 with Windows 7 installed. I’m not joking. Ask me about getting iPhone photos onto Windows 7.
