Can it do segmented downloading, ie. download 8 segments in 8 threads? GetRight used to be able to do that and it's monstrously useful since there are 1001 different reasons why you'd have single thread speed caps (server cap, ISP cap, ISP bad peering, etc).

For detection alone nothing has ever surpassed NOD32, but Kaspersky had an unparalleled ability to unpozz already compromised systems (no idea if that's still the case, though) despite the unbearable bloat.
