last time i saw a tcl it was running android 4 in 2024. brand new tv. slow as a fucking glacier. it was embarrassing. remember the days when you could turn your tv on a picture of the channel you wanted would instantly appear? yeah, thanks to fucking morons that refused to invest in software development, waiting up to 30 seconds or more just for a picture is embarrassing. and that's all to do with using android. when you have to use android, because your business is so fucking shit at software (nor do they want to pay for software) you get given dangerously out of date cancer.

My Hisense tv runs android quickly. But you can't remove Google launcher from the TV. I tried and it started boot looping until I reset it. So sometimes when I turn it on I'll see the shitty ad ridden Google TV launcher for 2 seconds before projectivy replaces it.

I have both TCL and Sony.
TCL is more than enough to watch new 4K HDR movies and play 120Hz games.
Sony is better for old content like VHS, DVD etc. It has the best postprocessing software.
