Friendly reminder to get a battery backup for your computer and NAS. Don't wait until it's too late.

It isn't the 90s anymore, grandpa. You should get batteries for your whole home.

I had batteries last 5 or 6 years, then replaced them in the UPS for 1/3 the cost of buying a new UPS. Git gud.

>UPS started blinking yesterday, audio is disabled
>Management page tells to replace battery
>Run a self-test couple of times, they fail
>Order a new battery
>Today run a self-test again
>It passes and now the battery status is "normal"
Well shit. Its gonna die at some point sure but it might still last couple of months.

I'm happy with a CyberPower ValuePRO (line-interactive). Takes care of Italy's brownouts (and rare blackouts) like a champ.

I live near a faulty 250kV power line that shits itself a couple times per year so I have a 20Ah gel battery ups that I literally just use as a battery in case of no juice

Pro tip: you don't need pure sine wave for computers, it's only needed for some specialized equipment and analog devices that need it - I used to have a use case for a ups for a water pump that needed pure sine wave to work. With computers you don't so don't overpay and don't listen to retards who try to get you to overpay

I had a UPS. Constant clicking noises while nothing bad happened drove me insane. I got rid of it and haven't had a problem for years.

Most of the people don't live in Africa, United States, India or other third world countries so UPS is not needed.
