Never sync, never cloud.
Imho anon you will eventually have some 0day that's exploitable on computers somewhere on the internet.
Cloud sync is yet another computer beyond your own that you have to trust.

But I also don't think mozilla has enough cash to store all the browsing history you ever had when you wipe it and sync it for all their customers.
Wipe it out of the cloud.

I will say this, don't store your passwords on the firefox cloud or in your web browser.

i used sync for bookmarks for awhile then stopped and thought i deleted my account at firefox.
fast forward 6 months, decide to sign up again.
firefox still had all my data, nothing was removed.

host your own sync server

Wait, doesn't Mozilla delete the data off their servers once the sync is complete? It's beyond retarded if they actually keep it.

I literally selected and copied thousands of android mull bookmarks one by one just so I could save them without having to sync my shit to their 1984 server crap.

I vaguely remember having similar reservations a couple of years then I read that they encrypt the data in transit and in storage, I think I also checked their open source implementation for having locally hosted storage that it indeed kept the data encrypted and decided to use Firefox Sync. It's been comfy. I just hope they don't decide to suddenly disable encryption and store all of my shit unencrypted.
