The vast majority of people who can think independently or are intelligent just have their worldviews skewed in a different wrong direction from the common ones. Most people with high IQs are educated professionals with a narrow expertise and opinions that reflect what they do (scientists are a good example; they're often physicalist atheists with nihilistic or utilitarian moral views).

Even philosophers and mathematicians that may have a purer perspective can be inferred to be mostly wrong because they disagree widely and wildly on many of the most fundamental and urgent problems. They're diverse minds, can't all be right, therefore most are wrong. At most, you can hope that a 4-digit or 3-digit number of people are anywhere near the actual truth but the actual number is probably zero.

This is all overblown by modernity. "Introverts" didn't have such easy and convenient conditions to become shut-ins before modern life, especially before mass media around the mid 20th-century.
Basically the "introverts" of our day are truly unique creatures, and many "introverts" of the past would probably be considered "extroverts" today.

I think the study in that pic is deeply flawed. I recall the percentage of Aphants is closer to 4% of the general population than 20%. Also, aphantasia is a spectrum, some people can fully picture the apple, some can imagine the idea of an apple, and the other extreme end is having no inner dialogue or ability to even imagine the idea of the apple without having to speak your mind. The extreme end was less than 1%. Also I'm not an aphant so I can't really speak for them but from the videos of people I've seen online admitting to having aphantasia, a lot of them are still fairly intelligent and creative people, so I'm not even sure if lacking inner dialogue or imagery necessarily means you lack critical thinking skills and I suspect the NPC meme may be a strawman
