Nazism wasn't a set of well defined, strictly-adhered-to beliefs.

That famous poster shows how the Germans thought the 1920s Klan was just another goofy American jazz age fad, which was pretty accurate. European fascists of the era were hard men engaging in pitched street battles with leftists while building a political movement to seize power, while the KKK was a bunch of middle American goofballs LARPing a D.W. Griffith film, selling ranks and Klan gear in a massive pyramid scheme. They took over some city and state governments but quickly lost power due to corruption and incompetence. Their scary reputation comes from earlier and later violent iterations of the Klan—the 1920s version made a lot of spectacle but was relatively harmless.

Most of the support for interventionism during the time period came almost entirely from the south and southerners, and they were the only group who willingly joined the military to fight against other white people. Germany actually tried to contact the KKK, but they were so decentralized that it was basically impossible, and the few times they did get into contact southerners they almost immediately told them to go fuck themselves.
Most of the russia tier warcrimes committed by American soldiers were almost always committed by southern troops, usually white.
