Why do we know so little about the Greek-Indian Wars? There's not even Indian sources.

There are very few sources for Indian history before the arrival of Persianate monarchies

Alexander was Macedonian. Greeks keep trying to claim him as their own one moment and then call them barbarians the next.

Dharmic religions saw history as more of a endless repeating loop rather a fixed timeline with beginning and end

They simply didn't want to. India did not produce historical writings until just a few centuries ago

>There's not even Indian sources.
This is actually very common for India at the time. They didn't actually write down much of anything that didn't have to do with religion or ritual. We know more about Ashoka from monuments he made than from chronicles.

Because India didn't record anything until the Mughals arrive, basically everything we know about india pre-middle ages comes from foreign sources

You have to see it through the lens of hindu priests who basically held a monopoly on all forms of academics, the physical world was meaningless, why record it?

India did have written and oral history, but it was mixed in religious writings. The Puranas are filled with history, genealogy and accounts of past kings. Purana literally means old/ancient. Same with Jain scriptures. Indians didn't see history as its own thing. It was a part of a holistic and philosophical/Dharmic worldview, because everything was about Dharma. Even the gods were bound by Dharma. There was also field of Itihasa, which included the "religious" epics like Ramayana and Mahabharata that are seen as real history in Hinduism, but also included stories of dynasties and past kingdoms, which were taught especially to the ruling class.

Because Indian btfo’d them just like they did to Alexander. Greek shit their pants and ran away after a skirmish with a border lord never mind the mauryan which was the mightiest empire of its time.
Indian kings basically kept attacking Greek lords and in exhabge for money/princesses or land the Greeks would beg for peace. Alexander won 1 battle in India. His successors lost every one after wards.

Buckbroken conquered pakis are too retarded to even contemplate about reality, let alone maintain historical writings. Besides, to them, their history starts with the Islamic invasion of Sindh, like true conquered slaves. Everything before that is irrelevant to them.

Pakistani history starts in the 20th century, because prior to that they were simply the northernmost part of India.
