Paul says that some of the Jews were allowed to be broken off the tree to make room for some gentiles to be grafted into the tree. But you gentile who are a grafts should not brag or feels superior to the original branches because you are just a graft and if God did not forgive the original branches, neither will he forgive you.

There is one tree and it is white, white people, and God is not afraid to allow the branches of it to be burned if they do not take salvation in the body of Christ. That was, after all, their lot from the fall which brought them about.

It's the same error the Jews made. Believing that their branch would never be broken off.
Applied, we see Catholics, for example, believe that no matter how far their Church strays from the Bible, it can never be broken off.
Catholics believe in the traditions of men like the Pharisees did, replacing the Word of God.
For this, God broke them off.
The tree remains.
