Christian Zionism is indefensible and abhorrent.
Do younger protestants buy into this wicked idea? I know the older boomers tend to, but is that the current trend with protestantism?

Ever since becoming a Catholic, I pay little attention to that sphere, unless it makes big news like a recent somebody did in an interview. Saying Christians are commanded to defend Israel.

I'm aware of recent Catholic figures making, while not as bold, equally heretical claims of Jews and Israel. But am mostly interested in current protestant trends.

It's either Jews get Israel or Muslims get Israel. Most Christians feel like their religion is closer to Judaism than Islam, so they would rather back the Jews. It's that simple

Saying you're commanded by the bible to defend Israel isn't what you're describing, and neither is dispensationalism
