The title of Ferdinand the Catholic did not went to Germans/Austrias.
Charles II linked in 1698 all the titles of the Spanish royal family (Roman emperors, Kings of Jerusalem, Indies, Sicily, Flanders, etc etc etc.) to the Spanish throne as institution.
So technically the current emperor today is Felipe VI, but Spanish monarchy never valued, cared or used the title since the XVI century.
The title of Ferdinand the Catholic did not went to Germans/Austrias.

We are not descended from Romans. In fact lot of Italians today aren't, since the Roman Empire loved to bring slaves from all over including North Africa, and after the Empire fell, all the raids and conquest from MENA browns, plus European ethnicities Franks, Goths, Lombards, etc., all leaving behind their peoples and genetics.
This is actually why there today is a intelligence difference dividing Italy, with the more European genetics having North and the more MENA genetics having South. Even the "Italian" mafia is not actually Roman/Italian, but Semitic, being from Sicily that has most foreign DNA in all of modern united Italy.
