Israel was Josephs side of the family of the marriage between him and Potifers daughter Asenath. They were both known as "Iudaim" because they were married in the city of Heliopolis,- formerly/conservatively known as IUNU. They were both "Peoples of Iunu" aka "Iudaim". When Josephs descendants Aaron and Moses of the Luwian-Cimmerian heritage of Omri decided to marry some desertwomen that Moses had spent his time in the desert with, the family of these desertwomen also took on the name "Iudaim" to signify that they now had become allied with the people of IUNU as opposed to the pharaoh. But because they were different than Israel and the native Iunu people of Potifer/Asenath, they later on cooked up the mythic son of Jacob known as Judah to simplify their familial ties to Israel as equal to that of all the other tribes of Israel like Levi and Dan. They used this "Equal" identity to justify their overthrow of Levi (killing of Aaron & Moses before entering Canaan) and expulsion of Dan (Whom still had their golden priestly goods which Levi also had, before "Judah" melted it down into a golden calf)
Israel was a Luwi-Cimmerian family-remnant of upper mesopotamia when the Sea Peoples aka Western Anatolians sacked the Hittites. Many of them moved to Egypt because the priesthood of Heliopolis/Iunu had roots back to when Thoth/Enoch (Luwian scribelord) helped Isis.
