Ska, Calypso, Reggae, and Samba all have roots in West African music tradition whereas Blues, Jazz, Ragtime, and Rock and Roll are a combination of White classical and folk tradition with West African influence

Louisiana and Cuban Vodoo literally come directly from West African Vodรบn religion. West Africa in particular has a great deal of cultural influence in North America because that's where most slaves were imported from

Only 4% of slaves were transported to the U.S. during the slave trade and the U.S. illegalized the slave trade in 1808. So the vast majority of slaves in the U.S. were born and raised on U.S. soil

Racism in the 19th century was more paternalistic. It was standard to read the Bible to slaves to get them to obtain some modicum of civility and abandon their African ooga booga religions. A slave owner who didn't bother to guide these wretched souls towards salvation was viewed similarly to a parent who didn't bother to educate their children.

I'm not black but I feel like black people in America practicing Vodoo aesthetics is the equivalent of white women who practice pagan aesthetics and have healing crystals and treat tarot cards like they're sacred so it's probably pretty cringe

>Blues
Southern Folk Music with West African influence (see Hart Wand and W. C. Handy)
>Jazz
This was largely started by black musicians, specifically New Orleans Ragtime bands, sometimes called Dixieland, but was nevertheless based on Vaudeville
>rock and roll
Comes from Rockabilly, which ultimately comes from Appalachian Folk/Bluegrass but black performers took that and made it their own

>Rockabilly

Motherfucker it's in the name, it's a hillbilly's take on rock 'n' roll. Rock music came from rhythm and blues, a genre white people don't generally listen to unless it's 70s soul.
