>>17814514>Paul was clear on this, but he was a charlatan.Daily reminder that at least one anon (me) is convinced that Paul's writings have been contaminated both by people who opposed his ideas and who had their own various agendas that went against his own.
Do you think the following passages were written by the same person, or could it be that someone edited Romans to imply that Paul's opposition to the Jewish law came about from his own inability to keep it due to innate wickedness, even demon possession, instead of from a more principled objection?
Philippians 3:4-6
"If someone else thinks they have reasons to put confidence in the flesh, I have more: circumcised on the eighth day, of the people of Israel, of the tribe of Benjamin, a Hebrew of Hebrews; in regard to the law, a Pharisee; as for zeal, persecuting the church; as for righteousness based on the law, faultless."
Romans 7:14-15;19-24
"We know that the law is spiritual; but I am unspiritual, sold as a slave to sin. I do not understand what I do. For what I want to do I do not do, but what I hate I do. For I do not do the good I want to do, but the evil I do not want to do—this I keep on doing. So I find this law at work: Although I want to do good, evil is right there with me. For in my inner being I delight in God’s law; but I see another law at work in me, waging war against the law of my mind and making me a prisoner of the law of sin at work within me. What a wretched man I am!
