It took the Russians more effort to conquer Dagestan (Population ~1 million) than it took the British to conquer all of South Asia (Population ~200 million)

Its actually not hard to believe at all if you know jeet history. Babur who founded the Mughal Empire(the previous major empire in India before the british) settled in India after he got tired of losing multiple times to uzbeks

This is more true then you realize, since the USSR spent most of its history in a wartime economy, even as the rest of the world was enjoying peacetime. Warrior culture is too ingrained into the Slavoid brain to imagine anything else.

They landed in April, lost almost 190,000 guys killed and wounded and then called it quits
