If there was any question that this "theory" has its origins in Jewish eisegesis and presenting it w/r/t Egyptian chronology is a post-hoc excuse, just read them desperately flailing to excuse why an astronomical condition that lasts minutes is described by the Bible as a condition that lasts "about a whole day".
Also, for fucks sake the whole point of the miracle is to allow battle "until the nation took vengeance on their enemies". You can't fight battles at night, and a solar eclipse would if anything barely shorten the amount of time for battle. It precludes any real comprehension of the passage just to be a little more naturalistic, only a Christian could find this tenable.
