In Aboriginal folklore for example some of the tribes near the coastal areas have stories of lands that are now underwater being used for hunting. Also a different group hints at a time when the Willandra Lakes was wetter rather than being desert. It started to dry out about 18k years ago.
Also the Klamath Indians have a folklore story that describes the formation of Crater Lake.
