so, to get the story straight:
Joseph Smith bought some ancient Egyptian mummies papyrus manuscripts and started claiming they were the diaries of Abraham and Joseph, to the point where his 'translations' of them are still considered holy texts in Mormonism today, and subsequent scholarship showed he was making it all up (including claiming the mummies were pharoahs with names that didn't exist historically) but they don't care?

The book of Mormon is ~530 pages long, but he claims to have translated the text from some Golden metal plates roughly the size of a DIN A 5 paper. How information dense and tiny were those texts written?!

the book of mormon has about 268000 words, if we assume the original script was completely logographic/ideographic with each character being 0,5cm by 0,5cm and each plate being the size of an A5 we could get about 400 characters per page, if all plate are written on both sides it would need at least 370 plates for the whole book
