Historical & Educational Content
I'm looking for some media format recommendations so I can encourage myself to learn more as reading history books can get quite boring.

What are your favorite sources of information to learn about history, battles, tactics, politics, and even just anything that can arouse intrigue?

It doesn't have to be just squares on a screen moving like picrel. It can be dramatized versions like those roman shows or even slightly pozzed modern war documentaries that have high production budgets.

I personally incline heavily towards medieval subjects, after playing a game like KCD1 for quite a while and seeing just how historically accurate the experience has been, I have developed a sudden thirst for more. If you have some really good medieval era content you really enjoy, please post it below.

Epic History TV has a boring series on Napoleon that focuses on his battles. Many other videos of his are more than decent and he made three series that are absolute kino.
>1848
>Belisarius
>The Decembrists

SandRhoman history has a great series on siege.

Ancient Sight makes videos about the Byzantine Empire without the shitty fights, but he's a byzaboo so he's low iq and immoral.

Jack Racham makes abridged history videos that are very funny.

For Infotainment I go with Goldandgunpowder, who covers primarily new world piracy of the 17th and 18th centuries. He uses comedic elements occasionally but still covers the topics rather well and always links his sources in the video descriptions.
Another Anon mentioned SandRhoman History and I would too.
For a bit more dryer stuff, I would recommend Capandball, who covers historic firearms and not only goes about the technical details but also talks about the histories, manufacturing procedures tactics and conflicts they were used in.

Of course, the one retard with zero reading comprehension hates zoomers. We will erect the remnants that were forgotten, abandoned from our ancestors by the likes of you. Meanwhile you will be forgotten, the only memory left is how (You) receded into nothing, impotent and oblivious of your own uselessness.

More well known:

>Jack Racham

He does pop history mainly and at that and peddles a lot of propaganda but isn't terrible

>Toldinstone

Rome again, actual doctorate in antiquity but mostly does pop-history, his longer podcast videos with other historians are great though, his side channels are also of high quality

>Dovahhatty

I miss him, so, so much

>HistoriaCivilis

Heavy liberal bias that he isn't exactly up front about but still great content

>Leather Apron Club

Bias in certain areas of his videos, this time right leaning, but still does a good enough job I can recommend him to anyone

Less well known:

>Type 56: The Story of China's Army

I caught this guy early, he's another doctorate holder/professor and got me interested into a field of history that is not well known or discussed. He kinda got a boost from Ian but hasn't really been uploading as much recently.

>Tribunate

Great source on the late republic, heavily leftist and almost a bread tuber with a Caesar bias but not terrible content for Rome

>The Historian's Craft

Kino autist productions, wide range of topics but pretty much all of it is ancient

Almost forgot Premodernist is a good one if you have an interest in medieval stuff, he does quite broad videos though, I watch him while I work on my Minecraft world usually. Sorry for giving you mostly recs uninterested in medieval history, I missed that part of your post, I'll do some research for you in the interim and get back with more good content. As other people in the thread have mentioned, however, reading will give you a more in depth understanding of events, videos can and usually do have errors or bias, it is just a nature of the medium you have to accept. If you really want to be able to say that you know-know these topics, then study is even better, though history is a field which will sort of pressure you either into seeking tenure or just going the law path.
