If you had the choice between burning literally for fucking ever and singing songs which would you choose? I think it's also pretty clear that when you go to heaven you are kinda going to a place beyond the physical plane, so it's an existence entirely alien to you and the feeling of music is just the easiest way to describe it to people. Are you literally singing? I would imagine yeah, whatever that may look like. Is it going to be at all what singing is like here? Probably, definitely not.

The 144k number is just the number of people that will be salvageable come the end of the world. At some point in the future, maybe now, maybe way off in the distance, there will only be a 144k people worth saving from eternal burning.
