There must be some kind of connection between this region and the naming of America.

Why do they lie to us about history?

Armorica is an Ancient Celtic word which just means "by the sea" and was used to describe all of Western France with no ethnic meaning and it was only restricted to Britanny in medieval times

America was named after Americo Vespucci a french explorer. He stole Columbus's recognition and it got named after him instead. On one of the subsequent voyages, Columbus sailed further south and discover Columbia which was named after him. Also if note is the fact that DC is also known as the district of Columbia. Of further note is the goddess Columbia who was the personification of liberty in the US before the statue of liberty was a big thing

riverrun, past Eve and Adam's, from swerve of shore to bend of bay, brings us by a commodius vicus of recirculation back to Howth Castle and Environs.
Sir Tristram, violer d'amores, fr'over the short sea, had passencore rearrived from North Armorica on this side the scraggy.
