Because they want STRUCTURE. Look, here's a very simple truth. If you believe that there are gods or one God, then it's just your reality. There's no uniformity, just various traditions from other people and you can look back to see what worked. It's modern autism where everyone needs a label, some raison d'etre but that's not what religion is about. Religion is about tapping into the divine to change things in your favor.
