It's a pretty simple one that you should be able to answer. Why should you take everything written by one dude at face value? We know there were clashes between him and the Jerusalem church, but we only have Paul's side of the story.

If you think a certain Jew had visions of Jesus and wrote (any of) those New Testament letters, you are either a rube or not as critical as you think.
If there is a single document an archetypal minister to the goyim had a hand in, it's the Didache. The author of its vorlage was not a charlatan, he was a Jew who thought the world would end and goyim should know about it and the one who told the world. The author of the Pauline epistles was an orthodox proto-Catholic self-consciously penning sacred history.

Christianity has been corrupted by men so thoroughly, that even if one strain of it remaining were true to the heart and intentions of Jesus, it would be impossible to tell for the deluge of deception. Two thousand years of what you see in every Christian thread on this board led to this. I can only imagine that God must think this is an acceptable development, somehow, somehow building up to something good. Somehow it must be correct and good that the other religions exist as well. I can't fathom God's will or what the hell he wants me to be doing, but Christianity feels impossible to sort because of the arrogance and hateful ignorance of the 99% of Christians of history.
