Because miseginated was much more common in the iberian colonies than in the english ones.
I would say that this is because unlike mexico or peru for example (in which the indian tribes would get converted to christianity very fast because of the jesuit missions) the natives from the 13 colonies didnt convert so fast, even more after the King Philippe War.
I mention convertion because the christian colonists only could marry with the converted christian indians.

which probably had more to do with the fact that the Indians the Spanish encountered were plentiful and easily conquered rather than sparse and aggressive. Also there's the fact that most miscegenation happened after independence.
