Why did degenerate sports culture impact the western world so fast? The MLB forms soon after the Civil War and quickly everyone agreed it’s America’s pass time. Similar story with Euros and soccer leagues. The aftermath being a world of sports betting, drug addiction and encouraging poor behavior from “Star athletes” when mere years yearly they would’ve been publicly shamed for. All this with no pushback at all from any groups.

sports are fun, the problem is when athletes act like degenerates. same goes for musicians and actors

if leagues held athletes to higher standards of professionalism and personal character, there wouldn't be a problem. I understand it's their own lives outside of work, but with millions of kids looking up to them they need to be good examples of character

I get what you're saying. People who deride it as "le sportsball" are almost always wormy little pissant types utterly consumed by their anima. The flip side is that there are dumb people who waste a lot of time invested into sports as an unhealthy distraction or even to a gambling addiction degree.
