The history of Christianity is genuinely interesting when you aren't assmad and brainrotted by e-apologists into feeling the need to defend or denigrate it. It is a fascinating chapter of human history and psychology, and as someone of European descent from a Western background I'm more inclined to find it familiar (compared to say a Japanese person). The point of history, by the way, is to learn about the past and try to reconstruct what happened to the best of your ability. That's it. It isn't contingent on you. It isn't about internet upvotes or modern political causes.

If you are like this - just let go of these invisible chains around you. They don't actually exist. It is so freeing. The love of knowledge feels so good.

The point of history is to take documented evidence and physical evidence and construct a theory around similar or sequential events. You can either accept what you are given or look at the data and consider what else could have been the case. All of historical investigation is tied to creating some kind of narrative about the truth of a belief or belief system that was or is held as true today. That's it. You will never know what bishops said to each privately in Nicaea in 325 AD regarding the Arian issue. You will only have what was permitted to be written down and you could perhaps point to flaws or anomalies in the data as circumstantial evidence for another narrative. Aside from that, you are correct, Christianity is a very interesting religion when you look at its development over the first millennium.

Yet for some reason, you choose not to talk about it here. Why even make this thread?
