Democracy is the best possible system
with one condition, that it limits corporate lobbying. If this is not done democracy will become an oligarchy, like it secretly is today.

The historical context at that time necessitated constant war and invasion as all other major factions around Rome behaved the same. This is not the case anymore. The historical conditions of Rome does not apply to us.

You are right, we are more like Athens. Rome won its wars, Athens lost like we did Korea Vietnam Afghanistan Libya Yemen Ukraine and soon Taiwan. Wars we had no business fighting in the first place.

>by democracy he want's people not to be elected by the people but elected by the Gods (lottery)
>He wants to exile those whose who deny the might and the majesty of the Gods (theocracy)

It's weird watching post-modern liberals appropriate Athenian politics.

Its a system with enough holes for corruption to make someone with trypophobia cry. If this is the best that humanity has ever come up with, politics is a lost cause

Oligarchy is fine if they were actually cared the citizens, but time and time again the modern version of "democracy" fails to serve the citizens almost always. Why should anyone care about your precious democracy so much?

If you want to steer your ship through the storm, do you let one captain decide how to rule, or do you want the regular sailers to first vote about everything?

No, that isn't good enough. There shouldn't be corporate personhood at all, it muddies the whole we the people aspect of democracy by pretending paperwork is people in order to give powerful lawyers and executives more rights that biological people without a shield of imaginary shell people to protect and serve them.

Agree, but the voters should be heavily triaged. Like for example, married men who have completed military service.
Just an example of what the voting population should consist of.
That way you get the vocal emotional masses of idiots out of the way and you gotta have voters with real stakes in the system, with incentive to make it work (like having a family)

The captain needs to be informed by all the sailors to know the best course since the captain only has one set of eyes himself, so yes all the sets of eyes should inform the decision.

OP and I agree, but you shouldn’t be too exclusive otherwise you’re facing an angry crowed. In my opinion, the middle class should matter more than the poor and the rich since they are the balance. If the middle class is the priority of the system, the rich and poor will also be benefited, since it becomes easier for the poor to ascend the social hierarchy, and it becomes easier for the rich to maintain their status because a big middle class does not pose threats to the rich, unlike the poor.

The people and the state collaborating just ends up creating a massive lobby system where the bigger companies pull up the ladder with retarded entry barriers/patents that stifle healthy competition. If you want a perfect example of democracy and a lobby system destroying your life look to martin shkreli. Without patents he cannot increase the price willy nilly

They don't need to be persons, they just need to be contracts between persons, so the actual criminal persons who ruin corporations can be held accountable.

>So the sailors should always just do their assigned job and not question authority
The job duties should be assigned based on qualifications, not authority.

>start a mutiny
Yes that should be on the table any time the captain goes mad or otherwise is negligent to his duties.

>involve in leadership disputes?
Yes the disputes should be addressed by the collective instead of just a couple of people at the top who don't have the full context.
