Judging by the intensity of the Japanese bootlicking of Americunts, yes, the bombings were absolutely justified.
>>17901490 (OP) >be mutual combatants in a total war >both sides use their most powerful weapons at their disposal to win
I donโt understand the moralfagging over the atomic bomb. Japan wouldโve nuked the US if it could, no question.

No. The primary factor in Japan's surrender was the Soviet Union going from a neutral party in the Pacific War to a belligerent in August of 1945. Once their invasion began (on the same day Nagasaki was bombed), Japan's leadership knew that any possibility for a negotiated settlement had evaporated. An unconditional surrender to the Americans would provide the best chance of the imperial house's survival, so they took it.

Axis apologists moralfagging in general is hilarious. The truly think Japan wouldn't have bombed America. That Germany would've been merciful if he allied were crushed.

Nobody actually thinks the atomic bombings were anything but an atrocity anymore. They probably never thought they were acceptable, but saying so in the 1940s/50s/60s would result in you getting thrown in prison.

Terror bombing campaigns against civilians, including those inflicted by Japan, were completely ineffective when it came to sapping a country's morale. If that were the case, you would have learned about Giulio Douhet in your history class.

Had the bombs not been dropped, millions more would have died. Shortly after Operation Iceberg, the JCC estimated the US would suffer over 40,000 casualties if they carried through with Operation Downfall.
