Could the Catholic Pope have done anything to prevent WW2? Hitler is Catholic.
The Pope can literally forgive people’s sins and reinterpret “Thou shall not Kill” commandments to include Jews on behalf of God.

He did attempt to mediate between Germany and Poland regarding Danzig, but Poland ultimately decided to ignore him.

I doubt it would have made a difference in the end anyway regarding the conflict between the Soviets and Germany. It's unlikely the leadership consisting of mostly ethnically Jewish atheists in an Orthodox country were going to pay any attention to the head of the Catholic Church.

even at the churches height of power they could pretty much do jack shit in actually preventing wars between catholic nations, there was no way they could prevent the outbreak of war, especially since by that point Hitler only really payed lip service to christianity while in private stating he hoped it would go away at soonish
