Were there any instances at the end of WW2 of British, Canadian, or American soldiers mistaking Tartar invaders in the Red Army as the Huns their propagandists warned them about and subsequently firing upon them?

Why were Tartars scapegoated for the rape of Berlin and genocide of Prussia when that was all done by Slavic Russians?

It's pretty embarrassing that one of America's top generals became a Nazi after having to interact with Soviet forces.
Makes you wonder why anyone was dumb enough to consider the Soviets their allies in the first place

Why should anyone give a shit about a guy who was so incompetent he was put in charge of driving around empty bases, sending fake radio signals to units that didn't exist, while all the good generals were storming Normandy?
