The Philistine's could have been from Sardinia or Southern Italy. There is no real evidence they were Hellenic and they seemingly also faced the brunt of collapse with the others as well as communication between them and the Hittite Kings stop as well.

The Phoenecians traded warriors all the time in their region. Goliath was probably one of those Proto Celtic warriors who were renowned for their size and strength and who had invaded the Mediterranean from the north. The story was about the Philistines thinking they would dominate the short Jews with token warriors.

Goliath was actually just 6'9, but the jews realised the story made them sound like pathetic manlets terrified of a man who was just above average height so they bumped him up to 9'9
