USSR was able to play the paper tiger for some time but people dont seem to realize just how one-sided the Cold War truly was. Russia never managed to recover from the demographic and economic collapse that the war inflicted.

I don't live under an HOA currently, but I did in the past, and it was a Townhome/Condo in a little gates community complete with a local pool and a park. Some people like HOAs because they will cover things like painting your house and maintaining the local greenbelts, they're communities a lot of people move into when they retire but that's basically it. They also only respond to neighbor complaints, which never happened because we all knew eachother, one of my neighbors was a schizo who would sometimes howl at the moon late at night.
