Veneration is the honor given to saints. Look it up.

Because Catholicism has been usurped by the superiority of paganism which they tried so hard to dispose of. By adopting the practice of saint veneration as a form of soft polytheism, they ended up keep the traditions alive that they so sought to eradicate.
