I'm one of them. I have two Italian surnames and Italian ancestors on my mother's and father's sides. A great-grandfather who literally didn't speak Portuguese properly, and a great-grandmother who died without speaking much because she had Portuguese as a second language. I admit that for a while, my ego was quite high. But my paternal grandmother revealed that her mother was, and consequently, her grandmother, were Indigenous and dark-skinned. What did I do?
