Why were the Russians so quick to recognize Israel?
Isn't ethnonationalism and colonialism what they're supposed to oppose? Or is that only bad when Anglos do it?

A huge proportion of Israel's population is ethnically Russian. Both because of Jews fleeing persecution and Jews being sent there by the Soviet Union. If you don't know this you're not very historically literate.
