No the real issue is that the core userbase moved on during covid and just never came back. The board was dead for at least half a year before it got colonized for being too slow. I don't recall this many religion threads before a few years ago. They were usually generals. The anon having a mental breakdown over leftypol trannies is a nice throwback though. I've been on 4chan since the 00s and I think the website has only gotten better with time.

That said, /new/, the precursor to /pol/, was the funniest shit on the internet. It struck an amazing balance because people actually still had to tie their political sperging to happenings in the news. You actually had a massive libertarian bent back then as well. I've been trying to find an archive of all the old /new/ memes from 2010 but they have literally disappeared from the internet.

But the unironic pedophilia of the early days isn't something I really miss. Say what you want about /pol/niggers, they at least aren't running their mouths about fucking kids like the /b/tards of the day.
