The slavic identity most likely came into existence as a result of the hunnic invasions of europe, it's my believe that the core "slavic" identity is basically "wend" and possibly "east gothic" type people mashed together with "hun" type people, both groups (huns and wends) were probably mostly haplogroup r1a/haplogroup n type people but the wends probably had more r1b/I1 whereas the huns probably had more N and some O/C. In europe there was probably more of a distinction between haplogroup n(finn) type people and haplogroup r1a (wend) type people but the distinction probably also existed among "huns".
East germany has some "hun/wend" DNA but I think the "core" german identity is more of a split between "cimbri"(r1b) people and "suebi"(I1) people. It's my belief that the "cimbri/teutons" were basically steppe aryan people who invaded germany in the bronze age, suebi presumably inhabited germany before that but hid out/persisted in sweden when the cimbri invaded. The romans genocided the cimbri during the cimbri war and I believe this caused a power vacuum that allowed the suebi to migrate back south from sweden into germany, this southward migration is what pressured the helvetii to want to leave switzerland for spain leading to the gallic wars.
Sarmatians are the descendants of aryan invaders of iran who left iran and went back to europe after mixing with middle eastern people. "Sarmatians" don't really make up the core identity of "slavic people" except to an extent in poland as a result of the wend/Alan alliance, the "migration era tribes" that invaded the roman era basically became the medieval "warrior nobility" in europe and this included the sarmatian "Alan" tribe who became part of the warrior nobility in poland. In poland Jews were able to insinuate themselves into the "warrior nobility" because it\s harder to tell the difference between a jew and a sarmatian than a jew and a german, jews were likely responsible for pushing "sarmatism"
