How in actual fuck did this dynamic come about? Why is even the most basic of civic loyalty in the West seen as basically Fascism encarnate by so much of the liberal sphere, yet these same people instantly jump over and bootlick Eastern European ultra-nationalism, ethno nationalism, WW2 revisionism and double genocide holocaust denial?

It was done after the establishment of the neoliberal world order. Any sort of recognition of national identity is considered racist because nationalism runs downstream of culture, and culture runs downstream of race.
These people need to embrace multiculturalism because to do otherwise would be to acknowledge that not all cultures are equal, which also means the acknowledging the differences between each race.
This is why the British gov is trying as hard as it can to censor its populace in the wake of the grooming gang scandals. They cannot admit that a rapist from Pakistan is equal to a British baker because then that would mean that everything they've done up until this point is worthy of a hanging offense.
Where this narrative spins on its head is that leftists hate white people in totality. Slavs killing slavs is in their wheelhouse, and since they consider the jews to be white, it's more of the same.

Because the Russian federation is now the west’s enemy, any of the former enemies of Russia like Bandera are held up as liberators. It is similar to how the US liberals fund wahabbists in Arabia and “moderate” HTS in Syria. It’s about opposing Russia not about actual ethics

Canada was pumped to the brim with Ukrainian Fascists as part of Operation paperclip and cyclone. Australia for example got all the Ustase, US got all the Lithuanians. These people all got put in comfy establishment positions to basically act as a blunt force against the labour movement, since they were all fanatically right wing anti-Communists. This is why you get a whole bunch of weird bombings and such of Labour halls etc post WW2.
Canada if name in politics or media is Ukrainian = OUN (Chrystia for example)
Australia, if last name in politics or media is Yugoslavian = Ustase (Look at for example, Eric bana's parents, German mother, Yugoslavian father, emigrate at end of WW2 lmao, the entire Uglies faction of Australian politics)
US= Last name is Russian or Baltic RLA or Waffen SS volunteers/Forest Brothers. See much of the State Department, Nuland, PNAC, Gorka etc.

Everyone is sort of hypocritical in politics. You'll read a lot of zigoids in this thread pointing out western hypocrisy, and they're not wrong, but Russia calls the Eastern European nationalists Nazis while shilling the Western European ones because they think it will have some destabilizing effect within NATO or whatever. Also the U.S. has a nationalist government now and the support for Israel makes a lot more sense when you think of it as another one of these Cold War nationalist projects and Soviet Jews as a potential force to help weaken Russia.
