Why did God stop doing miracles once everyone started carrying around cameras in their pocket?
Anonymous No.17919885
he didn't, algorithms and lack of context just muddy everything.

Here I'll make this easy for you. What was the last miracle that happened on camera?

Yet another example of a presumptuous atheist who thinks he knows it all.
Tell me, if God is able to perform miracles, what prevents him to make it so that such miracles cannot be recorded on camera?
Ever thought about that?

What reason would he possibly have to do that? Who are you calling presumptuous, lol
Anonymous No.17919969 >>17920441

He didn't. Miracles keep happening.
Some of them were supposedly even caught on camera, like various apparitions. Sadly, the same atheists who spent decades on message boards demanding these pictures kinda just looked at them and shrugged their shoulders. One has to wonder why someone would demand pictures if pictures cannot really lead them to any conclusion regardless...

Who are you to question God's plan?
For the same reason he doesn't just appear to everyone and announces himself plainly, probably. See >>17919903

Literally every modern religion still alleges miracles, except for a handful of protestant sects.

>Who are you to question God's plan?
Who are you to claim there is a personal god and "he" has a plan? This thing you worship and call god is a parasitic entity that eats worship and fear as his food.

The real creator is impersonal and amoral btw

He already encompasses all things and possibilities, a "plan" makes him sound smaller than he is. You are too stupid to even begin to comprehend God. That's why you follow a religion created by bronze age jewish cave men

Theists often get accused of having convenient beliefs. The belief you just expressed is arguably 20x more convenient, which is why a good chunk of stoner "spiritual" girlies with henna on their arms share it. It's a universe to which you can form a relationship (like God), but you are the person and the universe is just ... something. It's a universe which obviously provides for you (like God) but doesn't actually demand or expect things from you back. It's a universe which contains a sense of morality (like God) across various species and societies, but which will never judge you and make you feel bad. It's theism where you and your friends get to claim all personhood.

>Theists often get accused of having convenient beliefs. The belief you just expressed is arguably 20x more convenient
It's the only way to explain why there is evil in the world without appealing to free will (as if that excuses it) or the mysterious ways excuse. God having no moral alignment explains it much more elegantly.
Anonymous No.17920029 >>17920034
>>17920024
I'd say ethical monism explains it even more elegantly while maintaining God's morals but either way, religion is not a Cartesian system. It's not a theoretical framework where you have all the explanations and answers and sort of proceed fully informed from there. Admitting you don't have a solid explanation is way more divine than leaping to whatever explanation calms you down the most.
Anonymous No.17920034 >>17920035
>>17920029
It's really this simple:
Is God omnipotent? If yes, then the presence of evil in the world must either mean he is indifferent to it or causes it on purpose. The baggage of there being an infinitely powerful being is that everything in the universe is exactly how he wants it to be. If it wasn't, the being would change it.
Anonymous No.17920035 >>17920038
>>17920034
No, it doesn't "have to" mean that at all.
>If it wasn't, the being would change it
What do you base this conclusion on? What I'm seeing is "This is how I, a human being inherently tied to temporal categories, would think and act".

Again you're treating this like you're building a cartesian system. And if what you're after is to build a cartesian system that's vaguely inspired by monotheism is what you're after, Godspeed to you. But that's just not a legitimate theological approach to Christian doctries.

>my life is a miracle
This approach to life is more closely tied to Eastern Religion and philosophy than it is with regards to the Abrahamic faiths. Abrahamism feels like it actually trivializes your existence as just being pawns in some all-knowing Gods plan
Anonymous No.17920455

And yet, Asians kill their own people by the millions and torture each other for fun whereas post-Christian cultures are a large reason why human rights are a concept at all.
There is nothing trivializing human life in Abrahamic faiths. You might personally find the idea of being a servant "trivial", but that is just ego talking. We all go through that at some point.

The funniest part about my fellow autistheists is that the majority of them are incapable of realizing that powerful unchecked governments are the only threat that religions have - religion itself is not very dangerous without the force of a state backing it. But nearly every atheist loves a powerful government. Really a shame.
