Why does athiesm always sound like endless cope?

Cope with what? Based on image I assume you mean the struggles of nihilism or something.

In that case idk, maybe bc you’re projecting because your own religious identity is a cope for that, and so that must mean other people are doing the same? Who knows tho

You are a slightly evolved monkey living in a meaningless universe. When you die, your consciousness will cease.

Perhaps. I'd give it a 50/50 of that or something far stranger. Either way its not like I, or you, or anybody, can do anything about it.

Atheists are much more convinced of your scenario than I am. 50/50 doesn't seem like atheism to me. Most atheists are more like 70/30.

Actually everything is 50/50. Either it happens or it doesn't.

Realizing that life has no inherent meaning is pretty crucial to being able to understand things like history. I can't imagine something that would cause you to lose your faith more than studying history

Cope with the fact that their lives are meaningless without God

I dont know what it means to "give life meaning" whether you are an atheist or a christcuck. It just sounds like a fluffy buzzword. All I want to do is watch anime in a mansion with a robot cat girl.

>you need an offspring
just like Apostle Paul and Peter did?
>you need to write a famous play or book. leave a mark on the world.
every christian has done this?
>you need to live a healthy long life
but I already do this without Bible?

Maybe you are emotionally invested in it sounding like so you make it sound like cope in your head.
>>17920803
Technically that also covers Jews and Muslims, at least, maybe also Sikhs. All three of which cover 58% of the Planet. Coincidentally, they are the religions have a larger fixation on 'atheists'.

Only if you are already pre-disposed to Atheism.

You're the one who prays to an old man living in the sky because you're afraid of ceasing to exist upon death. Sounds more like religiocucks are the ones coping to me.

how does anybody's actions make sense if you think the Christian God has any part in history

It's because it doesn't address a core political-economic issue, and misses the point that modern religion is largely community-oriented and only political on the fringes. It's not like it used to be hundreds of years ago where religions had legit political power. Militant atheists who proclaim that religion is what's wrong with the world come off as naive.

Not all religions say you need an anthropomorphic sky wizard to exist for consciousness to be preserved post-physical death

Frankly, I don't know. But someone invested enough in a belief can easily make it fit into his mental model. I don't think the executed Carpenter or his book are the Axis Mundi on which the entire universe rests so I don't have to engage in it.
>>17921339
Not all religions believe in the preservation of consciousness after physical death. Few religions do, actually. Considering most of the time 'Consciousness' as we may conceive it is very far from what most traditional beliefs conceived as souls.

The only meaning in life is pleasure. Your belief that a god exists makes you feel good, that's why you believe it.
Anonymous No.17921670 >>17921691

NTA but that feels pretty reductionist, although I agree that the meaning of life shouldn't be to just serve some Sky-Jew-Kaiju. The problem is we have no standard for what "meaning" even is in the context of life itself. The Zen approach to this seems to suggest that the meaning of life is derived from the fact that life itself is finite, which makes our experiences rare, and this rarity gives it value but we often take it for granted until it's too late. We don't go to a concert to hear the final chord, we listen and dance to the music while it's being played. That's what the meaning of life truly is.

>NTA but that feels pretty reductionist
It is reductionist, but it is most likely the truth. Even basic things like wiping your ass hinges on the paradigm of: done for pleasure or done to avoid displeasure. If you didn't feel good or feel bad why would you wipe your ass?
>We don't go to a concert to hear the final chord, we listen and dance to the music while it's being played
While motives behind action is a little more complex than merely chasing pleasure (or avoiding displeasure,) ultimately, that's what everything comes down to, regardless if you're conscious of it or not.

How can you possibly gather data on the religious affiliation of suicides unless every single atheist is renouncing God in a suicide note upon death? Seeing how Buddhists are the next bigger demographic, this probably represents nationality these are both just chinks.

Im athesist but still believe 100% something with vastly higher complexity or intelligence made us and everything around us. precision exists in everything around us. Greeks called it Mind, semites call it God, there's Dao, whaetver. just because that is real doesn't instantly associate with it all the old baggage of sucking baby penis skin/random retard in rome telling me what to be mad about/just straight up believing random fags walked on water and whatever other lies everyone throughout history made up to make their boring lives more attractive for status/financial reasons
