Why should i ask Mary to pray for God on behalf of me? Why cant i pray to God directly?

Theoretically, in the early church, the figure of Mary was downgraded, because depending the Gospel, the 1st ones to meet Jesus post his resurrection are Mary or Paul

Paul proclaimed himself the leader by saying he saw Jesus years later and told him to build the Church

There's also the theory that Jesus's brother was the leader after Jesus's death, and in that way he could downgraded also, and that would be the reason of why the Catholic Church says Jesus had no brothers, and those ones mention as brothers are because he's friend with

why should you ask other people to pray for your wellbeing if you can ask god instead? Because prayers from other people helps too it doesnt detract from what God does or from your lone prayers but it increases the efficacy with intercession from other people especially if they are more devout people their prayers have more merit.
