Back in the day, when nations would do trade or conquering, they would make the effort to translate or read up on their culture and myths so they could marry theirs to their equivalent version of the other nation or city.

Judaism basically borrowed everything but dressed them so differently that its almost difficult to figure out who is who so it would seem like it was original and special. Then it overthrew all other beliefs wherever it went so they could all adopt their faith.

Except neither of these happened. The jews had permission from the owners of the land (the British) to establish a state. Arabs were the ones who declared war on the jews. Once the Arabs were humiliatingly defeated, the jews chose to give back the lands that they had captured, leaving only a small territory for jews to build their state in.
The land of israel being the rightful home of the jews is not based on jews being "the chosen people" but on the fact that their religious texts and practices demonstrate that they are indigenous to the land with deep ties to it that have persisted despite 2000 years of diaspora.
