the reality is its the EU at russias door step, not the other way around.
with the collapse of the AMOC promising ever increasing energy demand in the EU, and new trades routes east to west imminent, the EU is looking to strengthen it position against russia before those problems arrive.
ukraine is just the tool, not the cause.
thats why they only drip feed the ukrainians during the early stages of the war when the most gains could of been made, a quick end was never something they wanted.
thats why the US didnt fully support the war, because fighting to secure the EUs energy and trade supply flowing in from the east and not over the atlantic would be akin to shooting yourself in the foot.
