I look to it more like the Ship of Theseus
If you change every part of Christianity, is it still Christianity? Or just an imitation of it?

Not even in the 1st 1000 years, right after the crucifixion they were already changing things
The "youngest" Gospels contain more supernatural events in comparison to the oldest ones, it was a "Christian" Whisper. Even the Church admitted that they weren't sure how many and what the changes were through time, the criteria to decide the cannon was an appeal to popularity and "I think this character would said this"
If I remember well, a theory is:
Mark was the 1st written
Then "Q" (unknown source or sources, don't know if it was/were written or not)
Matthew uses Mark and Q as source
Luke uses Matthew and Mark as source, change the story to make it appealing to a Roman public
About John I don't remember
