Ok, if christianity truly is an apocalyptic heresy of judaism, how come it didn't vanish away? You would think early christians would have taken the memo the moment Jesus didn't appear before them kicking the bucket

Early christians just "reinterpret" the scripture to be Jesus returning in their generation to "actually Jesus will return one day and resurrect everyone" or it's "technically that generation still because theirs a immortal jew roaming the desert somewhere" or "when Jesus said generation he actually meant the whole nations he preached to"
They did that because early christianity was a cult that demanded you to cut ties with non christians, sell your stuff and give the money to the "community/church", admitting they were wrong and Jesus wasn't coming would mean that they did all that for nothing (and that isn't even counting people like Origen that castrated himself for Jesus)
