Hitler's plans all involved conquering and settling Eastern Europe. why did the British, French, burgers etc have to get involved in attacking Germany when none of that had any direct affect on them?

Countries don't exist in isolation, they form alliances to pursue they common interests. It's called diplomacy - and Eastern European countries were part of these geopolitical alliances too. They weren't just up for grabs for any foreign delusional psychopath who skipped his history lessons.
