Your ancestors were subsistence farmers who took turns being taxed into poverty or having their entirely livelihood destroyed because their lord got into a feud and hid in his castle while his enemy burned all your lands. You have the right to vote, start political parties, religious associations, unions and more, you are far more privileged than your ancestors in pretty much all meaningful regards. You're perfectly free to pursue all the power you want, but you won't because you'd rather complain online.

What do you mean by 'winning'? I live in a country where education is free and the interest payments on student loans are incredibly low, the poorest person in this country is not legally or economically barred from pursuing the highest education and climbing the social ladder, that alone is a massive privilege over many past eras. Both middle and working class people can easily invest in index funds and passively grow wealth, if you don't care about that and only want to pursue experiences then never before has there been such an abundance of information and hobbies to pursue, you can buy instruments, art tools, there's so much media content created that you can't consume it all in a lifetime, you can travel to other countries, you can buy exotic ingredients and try dishes not even medieval kings had heard of, you can do so many fucking things in this life as an average person (provided you don't live in a third world country but then your life was shit 500 years ago as well) but all that somehow doesn't count because you don't have a yacht?
