Reminder Hiro said we are allowed a single meta thread to discuss improvements to the board.
Can we please for the love of god get character limit doubled for /his/, it's annoying as fuck needing to drastically cut down historical/academic quotes and then not being able to even comment on historical academic quotes when they are cut down, because of the word count.
Being able to actually post shit historians and academics say, will drastically improve content on the board, and it's hard to do it without having to consign it to a fucking huge image, or breaking a thread post into multiple rapid succession multi-posts.

Get rid of the current Jannies and get some new ones, who actually enforce the rules, in particular one thread per topic, on topic posts in threads and the 25 year rule. Wield the ban hammer liberally for the first couple months until people get the message.
That way you could get containment threads to keep the poltards and religionfags happy. The rest of the board might move more slowly, but I'd prefer a slower board with higher quality, and said higher quality would slowly attract more people interested in discussing history over time anyway.

For actual historical topics, there has to be some enforcement to prevent some random schizo posting like 20 posts in a row about some absolute nonsense that kills all discussion and derails the thread.
Though honestly this board is only semi-useful to discuss commentary of history with a more right-leaning bias. Just discussing the straight facts of history is much better done elsewhere that will actually ban people for being overly opinionated on it, and left bias can be found a few other places as well. To be honest I don't even know if history even works as a topic in an image board format, maybe we should be allowed to post PDFs like some other boards so we can share literature on the topic

This leads to extremely low quality discussion when the easy alternative is for example
