Without question, the US is the best option here, it comes down to "engage in free trade with us, don't act too shitty, don't nationalize assets that belong to American companies". The issue is that when the US is the global hegemon and really any sort of liberal democratic global power, its foreign policy gets entirely subordinated to electoral politics. It's mercurial and highly prone to extreme overcorrection, constantly rewriting the rules that the US itself set up.
